We are raising awareness of this day by making up age appropriate gift packs for children who will be either inpatients in children's ward or special care nursery or attending our outpatient paediatric clinic. We have printed off the beautiful posters from this website and will display them at Community Health , Hospital and Clinics.
We have arranged for party food and ice-cream to be given to the children who are inpatients on the day.
Where possible we have sourced items for our packs from Indigenous Companies such as wraps for babies and the bags to hold items.
We will print off the information from this website explaining the significance and importance of this day and place a copy in each pack.
we will also have a station outside children's ward with balloon garland and table with promotional materials regarding children's.
We are currently in negotiation with Newcastle Uni's Rural Doctor program where we are hoping that some of the medical students will be released to attend one of our Aboriginal Child Care Centres to run the Bear Hospital program on 4/7/23.
