The Garbutt Magpies Cup is a day where 19 primary schools from the Townsville area, Ayr and Palm Island gather for a day of AFL in an effort to win this prestigious event. Before the day, elders travel to the schools talking with the children about culture and community. It is the 9th event over a 10 year period, one event was missed due to the Covid pandemic. The event will be attended by approximately 300 students and is supported by partners from Government and local Businesses.
