Children’s Day ambassador
An ambassador helps SNAICC promote and celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day.
Some of our Children’s Day ambassadors in the past have included Patty Mills, Adam Goodes, Shelley Ware, Gail Mabo, and "Nanna" Ningali Lawford-Wolf.
In 2020, our theme was We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice. We celebrated young Jedda as our Children's Day ambassador, a Wurundjeri and Kalkadoon girl, along with Wurundjeri Elder Aunty Di. They featured in our promotions and videos.
In 2021, instead of one ambassador, we celebrate children from all of our Aboriginal community-controlled early years centres across the country.

“Nanna” Ningali Lawford-Wolf
Our 2019 Children’s Day ambassador Nanna, from the animated children’s series Little J & Big Cuz, promoted our theme We Play, We Learn, We Belong, recognising the vital role that learning in the early years plays in the development and futures of our children. We advocate for better access to culturally appropriate early childhood education for our children through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.
SNAICC would like to acknowledge the contribution of Ningali Lawford-Wolf for celebrating our culture and inspiring our children. Ningali was the voice of Nanna in Little J & Big Cuz – and we were proud to have her as our Ambassador for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2019.
